I have a weird feeling about reddit.com, is it really a social network or its a moderator’s network. Well as far as I can say it was a social network around 2 years back but currently it has become a MODERATOR’S network. I had a very low profile on reddit for last 2 years, infact was not actually using reddit oftenly, but I knew reddit has potential and can drive in a hell lot of traffic if and only if you hit the front page for a couple of hours. Now a days it has totally become dependent on its moderators for promotion and unbanning the news submitted by any user in the appropriate subreddit. These moderators are playing a very unrealistic role and hampering the theme what social media means. It has become a guild, where they are promoting only articles related to their own or of their friends and giving no importance to other domains. I have watched since a couple of times that it is usually no the reddit but the moderators who are playing this dirty games. The main impact is if your submissions are getting banned again and again then the reddit’s algorithm automatically ban’s the user account.
I too am one of the many who have fallen prey to the moderators… though I feel bad but I m bit at peace with myself trying to get my minds out on my blog. I realy feel that there is a need for reddit to gain special attention to the moderator gangs and kick them out so people who are really providing good news feeds may come back again and use the site for it good and fair affair. Though one can easily create another account using another email address and get it verified too but what happens when you make up your profile by submiting good content and gain more karma points for 2 years and again you get ban, will you again create another account and work on it for 2 more years just to get it banned again?… I don’t think so this can be the solution for it. Another thing which I just noticed was reddit allowed me to login using my credentials over here but when I tried to access my profile page in a different browser you can see the result. Im still not sure what is reddit or its moderators upto, all submissions are failing and no one can access my profile page.
