Why Your Residential Community Should Use Social Media

The more important question to ask is why shouldn’t your residential community use social media? There is virtually no drawback to begin utilizing social media for your community; yet, there is so much to gain. The benefits of social media for communities are every bit as great as for individuals. It is a way to bring together everyone in your community regardless of their age, race or gender. Indeed, social media is something that every community should use.

One aspect of social media that has become incredibly popular for people of all ages is Facebook. Ask anyone; whoever you ask will most likely have a Facebook page. If they don’t, they undoubtedly know many people who do. If your community were to get a Facebook page, there is an abundance of opportunity available. (more…)

Are you using Twitter as a marketing tool?

I have been quite active on Twitter for some time now and have analysed a few thing. I have seen people using Twitter as a mean for marketing their product or services or just self promotion, I do like twitter as a mean for marketing but as I go deeper I see nothing much which can make a difference than the other sites, because my screen is updated with tweets very fast and I miss out a lot of people’s tweets. If one gives time to just analyse the screen, there wont be a chance when you have seen all the tweets quite easily, the problem here is that people have lot many in their following list (even I do have), but I dont see anyone who are able to utilise Twitter as a marketing tool to its full potential, there are many few people on twitter who have understood the real and practical working of Twitter and are able to utilise it efficiently. Twitter is very different from other social media, and is very fast, you need to keep up the pace too.

Reddit acting weird or is it still the game of moderators?

from flickr

I have a weird feeling about reddit.com, is it really a social network or its a moderator’s network. Well as far as I can say it was a social network around 2 years back but currently it has become a MODERATOR’S network. I had a very low profile on reddit for last 2 years, infact was not actually using reddit oftenly, but I knew reddit has potential and can drive in a hell lot of traffic if and only if you hit the front page for a couple of hours. Now a days it has totally become dependent on its moderators for promotion and unbanning the news submitted by any user in the appropriate subreddit. These moderators are playing a very unrealistic role and hampering the theme what social media means. It has become a guild, where they are promoting only articles related to their own or of their friends and giving no importance to other domains. (more…)

Wake up call for Kevin Rose

It is coming to despair as continuously banning of good website has been occurring on Digg. No matter how much good the content is but it is being banned due to spam or some other reason by Digg.com. As being a frequent visitor of Digg, I see just a few websites, which are coming on the popular list, and others do not. As per seeing these things, it has become a matter of nuisance occurring at Digg.com by a group of people’s network who deliberately like to get the other website banned for any reason just to make sure their website remains at the top. In a recent search I have come across a new where Digg.com is expecting to sell the website at $300 million at VentureBeat, It is of much appreciation that Digg.com expects to get that much amount but seriously if that is the question then why is Digg.com still running, just due to the fact that a portion of member’s plan to earn more through their websites or associated websites where as most of the other’s websites are being continuously banned due to these freaks at Digg.com.
